Belbroughton Cricket Club

Belbroughton Cricket Club, established in 1863,  is set in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside and is a traditional village club. With adjacent parkland and views of the Clent Hills it is one of the most beautiful grounds in the County.

As well as fielding four Saturday and two Sunday adult league teams, a "Strollers" (veterans) team and also a Ladies team, the club boasts a thriving youth section.

The club coaches teams of boys and girls from Under 10 to Under 17, and has consistently enjoyed successes in most competitions. The Belbroughton teams frequently embarrass larger local clubs as the sides generally "punch well above their weight".

The club is well represented at County and District level and a strong relationship is maintained with the County who often use the facilities at Belbroughton for their youth fixtures. Two ex-Belbroughton youth players (Matthew Pardoe and Ben Cox) have recently been signed for the Worcestershire County Squad for the 2010 season.

Coaches are trained to at least ECB level 1 with many holding level 2. Coaches also have appropriate first aid and child protection training.

The club has practice nets at its ground and also uses facilities at local schools and sports halls for coaching. A programme of winter/pre-season coaching is also offered.

Hard ball cricket is played by under 10s and older, while under 7s, 8s and 9s are coached on Sunday mornings. See below.

Winter nets (2009-2010) will be held for the junior/youth section every Monday evening in the excellent facilities at Hagley Roman Catholic School. If you would like to attend please contact Peter Stuart (below).
